TORONTO, 2016 — Minimalist Canadian label KAELEN presented its spring summer 2017 collection in New York on September 7. Inspired by the concept of heritage, this season’s line introduces new fabrics such as a soft linen in marigold, a stretch floral print, a 3D metallic cherry print and a stripe viscose. The collection includes signature KAELEN shapes including slip dresses, classic jackets, pleated bell sleeves, jumpsuits and separates that play with the proportions of volume and texture.
“This season was about heritage fabrics and textures that felt nostalgic but timeless; classic florals, stripes and prints that have a subverted familiarity,” said designer Kaelen Haworth. “I was thinking about family, the way that clothing evolves over time and the idea of passing something on.”
KAELEN SS17 pieces will be available beginning February 2017 online at kaelennyc.com
