TORONTO —Toronto residents have been noticing something new blooming onto their Instagram feeds as of late. Floral startup Citizen Bloom has been steadily building a loyal following of enthusiasts city-wide, who have been taking advantage of on-demand bloom delivery and weekly bloom subscriptions, since its soft-launch this August.
A fresh new product offering or #BLOOMOFTHEDAY is posted every weekday morning (and select holiday weekends) across Citizen Bloom’s digital channels: Instagram, Facebook and citizenbloom.com at 9:30am. Two sizes are available: little ($45) and big ($75) with prices including downtown delivery (see delivery zones). Citizen Bloom employs a few simple, sustainable concepts to keep blooms competitively priced: same-day sourcing, hand-tied and designed blooms, an eco-friendly delivery method via bike couriers, and a limited number of blooms each day (to reduce waste and manage costs).
The #BLOOMOFTHEDAY is an everyday indulgence to feel really great about and can be scheduled by pre-ordering (up to a month in advance) or received weekly thanks to a subscription model.
“I wanted to give busy city residents the option of having fresh flowers—a simple indulgence—available at their fingertips, daily,” said Erin Waterton, founder, Citizen Bloom. “Our what-you-see-is-what-you-get model aims to make flowers ‘easy’ for everyone—whether it’s a deskside pick-me-up delivered to your office, or a bloom to wow your dinner party host.”
Here’s how Citizen Bloom’s daily orders work:
- Follow @CitizenBloom on Instagram (or Facebook) to have a fresh bloom delivered to your feed each morning OR sign-up for daily email alerts at citizenbloom.com.
- Visit citizenbloom.com and click it to pick it: orders are placed through the website and available until 1:00pm or sold out. Blooms are delivered within downtown Toronto same day (see delivery zones).
For those needing a consistent flower fix, subscriptions are available as a weekly, monthly or yearly membership with the #BLOOMOFTHEDAY delivered to your door on Mondays.
Citizen Bloom’s current delivery zones are within the GTA: Zone 1 (free) and Zone 2 ($10) with plans to expand paid delivery zones.
ZONE 1: FREE (North to Bloor, East to Church, West to Dufferin, South to Lakeshore).
ZONE 2: $10 Delivery Charge (North to Lawrence, East to Woodbine, West to Park Lawn, South to Lakeshore).
