New York, NY—Arts Brookfield, an initiative by Brookfield to engage communities and enliven its public spaces through the presentation of free world-class arts and cultural experiences, has named The Knot Group (TKG) as its public relations agency of record for its New York region. The Knot Group will manage all PR activities in New York, generating media coverage to increase awareness for the brand and its initiatives.
Since 1988, Arts Brookfield has produced, commissioned and presented free exhibits, performances and events in Brookfield’s premier buildings around the world. Supporting creativity and innovation in the fields of music, dance, theater, film and visual art, Arts Brookfield offers anyone the unique opportunity to engage with internationally acclaimed works of art in public spaces. Recent New York events include the LAB at Rockwell Group’s Luminaries, a spectacular lighting display with 650 lanterns that follows the glass enclosed topography of the Winter Garden at Brookfield Place; Soft Spin, a sound and sculptural installation by Heather Nicol; and the annual Lowdown Hudson Music Fest, which has swiftly become an outdoor summer concert staple in New York City.
"Having worked with Arts Brookfield in Toronto for the past two years, we are excited to further our partnership and help increase awareness about all of their exciting initiatives in New York,” said Amy Burstyn-Fritz, partner at The Knot Group. “Brookfield’s support of the international arts and commitment to offering accessible, public cultural events is unparalleled."
"Arts Brookfield is a global leader in the movement to build communities and the 21st century workplace through art,” said Hilary Bonebakker, partner at The Knot Group. “Having experienced some of the most exceptional events and exhibits during my time at the Guggenheim Museum and then with various brands at Art Basel, our team understands the importance of Arts Brookfield to bolster the arts and culture community through rich public programming."
"With a roster of clients including Luminato Festival and the Canadian Opera Company, The Knot Group has world-class experience working in the fields of arts and culture,” said Debra Simon, vice president and artistic director of Arts Brookfield. “They have a great appreciation and understanding of the arts landscape, as well as the social responsibility of businesses to support this community, and have the capacity to share our story on an international level. 2016 is going to be a very exciting year for Arts Brookfield, and The Knot Group will help us spread the word!"
Founded in Toronto in 2009, TKG announced a rebrand last year, introducing a new partner and events division, an office in New York and expanding client services. TKG counts top arts organizations, internationally renowned brands in beauty and fashion, and industry leaders in food and hospitality among its client roster, and has worked with artists the likes of Marina Abramovic, Matthew Barney, David Byrne, Willem Dafoe, Nelly Furtado, Terence Koh, Wanda Koop, Joni Mitchell, Mark Morris, Rainer Prohaska, Charlotte Rampling, Kehinde Wiley, Viktor & Rolf, St. Vincent, Rufus Wainwright, and many more.
